Information stored on your device
When you favorite a business or complete the tutorial, that choice is saved using your browser’s local storage. Carter’s Foundation does not receive this information. You can remove it by clearing this site’s stored data in your browser.
Searches and basic site operation
Search terms are used to return matching businesses. Like most websites, our hosting service may process basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, requested pages, and search requests, for security and reliable operation. We do not use this information to build advertising profiles.
Location and Google Maps
If you select “near me,” your browser asks for permission. Your location is used to center the map and is not saved by Shops That Give. The site uses Google Maps, which may receive technical or location information and may use cookies under Google’s Privacy Policy .
Listing reports
If you report a problem with a business listing, your issue selection, message, business listing, and any optional email address are emailed to Carter’s Foundation for review. Shops That Give does not save the report in its site database or add your email address to a mailing list. The message may remain in the Foundation’s email records as needed to resolve the report.
Business inquiries
If you ask to join Shops That Give, the business and contact information you provide is emailed to Carter’s Foundation, with a copy sent to your email address. The request is not saved in the site database or used to add you to a mailing list. It may remain in the Foundation’s email records while the request is reviewed.
Links to other sites
Business websites, social profiles, directions, donation pages, and other external links follow their own privacy policies.
